Taylor Jones
Taylor Jones created a blog called Dear photograph. The blog is made up image which have been taking using old family images out in front of where they were originally taken. Thus taking image of both past and present.
This image is really interesting
because it shows past and present with simplicity. The image uses an old photo which has been taken in the same place as the present image this creates a whole new image which has a new story to it. The different colours of the two images contrast which brings more attention to the initial image. The perspective of the image is slightly diagonal which suggest warps in time. |
Taylor Jones explores the way in which two separate images go together to create a whole new image. The way that Jones lines the old photo up with the new photo is really impressive. The main focal point of the image is the preliminary photo because its different to the rest of the image. The colours in the preliminary image are more over exposed compared the the background image. The lighting in the image would be natural lighting.
|
In this image the main focal point is the car because of how much it stands out compared to this rest of the photo. The alignment of the two images are seamless making it look like it was exactly in the way it was in the past but up to date. I like how Jones has changed the way he is holding the photo as its adds dimension to the image and creates two layers but added together.

Dear Photograph
Concept: Collect a series of old image and take them to the original setting of the image and take a photograph of them both together to create past and present images.
Response
Refining my work: To improve my work I think I could have payed more attention to the lighting and the placing of the image.

Irina Werning
Irina Werning studied until 1997 in her hometown of Buenos Aires at the University of San Andres. After this she came to London to study for a while. In 2006 she was the winner of the Ian Parry scholarship, She is now working as a free photo artist.
This image is made up of two separate images put along side each other one taken in the future and on e taken in the past. The second image is the same as the first except it is take in the future from the first image. The images have different types of lighting because of the difference in camera.
|
The main focal point of this image is the subjects. The two images look really similar which is why the photo is so interesting because you have to take a closer look to realise the differences between the two.
|
One reason why this image is so good is because the resemblance between the two is identical. I like the way in which Werning has really tried to create the sae photo but up to date because it really shows the theme of past present and future.

Concept: Take a series of image which recreate old family photos and place them alongside each other to show the contrast.

Sabato Visconti
Sabato Visconti is a photographer who turns his photo in to glitches. This end product is a surreal and hypnagogic. I based my final piece upon Visconti's work because i like the made he made everyday objects look futuristic,
For my final piece I used Photoshop to create Glitches by doing this it made the made the images look futuristic. I played around with the colouring to create an abnormal effect. The contrast of the colours make the image seem as if it almost 3D and makes them stand out.
