Three Artists Analysis
Tim Tadder
The main focal point of this image is a man with water smashing down onto his head. The water in this image is very vibrant in colour. The colour of the water works really well with the background of the image.
|
The colours make this photo very interesting because it has a lot more elements to it then than just a normal black or white background. Compared to the other two images the colours this image are a lot more darker.
|
This picture links with the theme of force because it shows how the force of water can be turned into art. The photo would of been taken with a slow shutter speed to capture to force of the water.
|
Martin Klimas
The colours in this photo stand out a lot because they are put up against a black background which makes you focus only on the colour of the image. The composition of this image is really interesting. There is lots of different shapes in this image.
|
The view point of this image is a straight on. All the focus is on the paints in the middle of the photo. The lighting in this photo looks like it would be artificial because it is taken inside with no backlighting.
|
All of the photo is in focus and there are no blurry spots which creates a really strong photo.
The Attention is all on the paint because it is Interesting for the viewer to look at. There is a contrast between The background and the subject |
Bill Viola
Bill Viola experiments by using water. In these images the images the main focal points is a figure under the water. The images show the force of water by the ripples and after splashes of the water. Bill Viola experiments with darker tones of colour in his images this makes the figure in the images stand out. Some of the images would be captured with a fast shutter speed to capture the movement of the water.
Force of nature
Concept: For this task, I have captured a series of photos that depict the relentless battle between man and the natural environment. In both the school environment and other places. I have documented where nature has overgrown man made structures. I used the auto mode on my camera and photographed from different angles.

Refining my work: In my second response to make my photos more interesting I experimented with using darker tones to create a sort of grunge look. I used common garden plants and objects to complete the task.
Artist Analysis: Nadav Kander
In these images done by Nadav Kander the main focal point is of a different object which looks as if it has been ruined by some sort of natural disaster. In the pictures there is very few people and if there are people there wont be many. Kander experiments in taking photos of renovations/building of buildings and bridges. In all the photos the colouring is quite dark and monotone with very little bright colours. The usage of dark colours adds a dramatic affect with the photos.
Applied force
Concept
For this task I have captured a series of images that depict Applied Force. To do this I used different materials to create different textures for the photos. In my photos i tried to create an abstract affect by using brightly coloured materials.

Artist Analysis
Francois Delfosse
Delflosse is a Belgian Architect who takes pictures using plastic bags to create different environments.
These 3 images done by Francois Delfosse are done by using plastic bags. These images would have been created by scrupling plastic bags of tissue paper to create a sort of antarctic affect. Delfosse experiments with different materials. The images play around with the idea of natural beauty in outside environments but as the pictures actually include something as simple as a plastic bag it gives it a different dimension to think about.
Imposing Architecture
Concept: For this task, I looked at imposing architecture in the school environment and out of the school environment. Took take this pictures i lay down or squatted on the floor so that the buildings could almost tower over in the pictures.

Three strands
1. Water- I will take a series of 20 images of showing the force of water this will be done using a slow shutter speed to capture the force of water. My inspiration for these images where from Bill Viola. Viola takes still images of people diving into water and the image focuses on the aftermath of the splash.
2. Movement- I will take a series of 20 images showing the movement by using people doing tricks and skating around on a skateboard to capture the force of movement through skating. I got my inspiration from Glen E. Friedman, Friedman takes images of Skateboarding. Friedman likes to refer to his work as Fine-Art photography
3. Inner Demons- For this stand I will take a series of images showing the force of Inner Demons. I will use a a dark background with poor lighting to fit with the theme of my images. I used Christian Hopkins photos as my inspiration for my images. Hopkins takes surreal self-portraits of how it feels to deal with depression.

Artist Inspiration
Christian Hopkins
Christian Hopkins age 22 born in Pennsylvania is a photographer who after struggling with depression decided to take images which portrayed emotion. He took his photos as a way of 'fighting' his illness. Christian Hopkins started out by uploading his images onto flickr.
The work done by Christian Hopkins really interest me as the photography uses lots of different techniques to create really interesting photos. The photos really stand out and have a very strong message so you know exactly what you are looking at. I chose to use Christian Hopkins because i find his work really intriguing and would like to recreate my own version of it.
Final Piece
I decided to continue the force of Inner demons. I found whilst taking the pictures that I could go in different directions and create different photos by experimenting with lighting and contrast of colours. Using Photoshop I can also adjust the lighting to fit with the theme of my photos. Took take my photos i will find an interesting outdoor area maybe somewhere around Highgate. The idea behind my pictures is photographing Inner demons. The concept came from the idea of sad feelings. I based my photos of the work from Christian Hopkins who specialises in taking photographs revolved around depression. The subject matter of my photo will include a figure with writing all over their face. For the technical side of my photos I will use a tripod to keep the camera straight and so the picture will have a nice boarder, I will also use natural lighting for my photos, after this I will then edit all my photos in photoshop for final adjustments.
